Berkeluasan 48,905 hektar dilitupi lebih 90% hutan hujan tropika serta ekosistem masih terpelihara.<br \/><br \/>Membentuk kawasan teras Landskap Hutan Selatan seluas 10,000 kilometer persegi yang berperanan penting sebagai habitat mamalia besar yang terancam terutamanya Harimau Malaya.<br \/><br \/>Mempunyai lebih daripada 1,593 spesies flora mewakili 19.2% flora di Semenanjung termasuk 38 spesies berstatus Critically Endangered (CR), 16 spesies Endangered (EN) dan 26 spesies Vulnerable (VU). Kekayaan fauna merangkumi 39 spesies mamalia, 253 spesies burung, 140 spesies amfibia dan reptilia, 108 spesies ikan air tawar dan 274 spesies rama-rama.
