By car

The Peta entrance is accessed via the town of Kahang, where the Johor Parks site office is located. From the North-South Expressway, exit at Ayer Hitam if you are coming from the north, or Simpang Renggam if you are coming from the south. Follow the road signs to Kluang and onwards to Kahang.

You may stop by the Johor Parks office in Kahang for a break and to stock up on last-minute supplies at the nearby shops if needed. The turnoff from the main road towards the park is located about 7 km from Kahang, along the trunk road to Mersing. From the turn off, it is a further 53 km to Kampung Peta through oil palm plantations and the Labis Timur Forest Reserve. If you do not have a 4WD, you can arrange to leave your vehicle at the Johor Parks office in Kahang and continue the rest of the way with a local transport provider.

By public transport

Take a train or express bus to Kluang. Then hop on a local bus or taxi to Kahang. Prior arrangements can be made with Johor Parks or the tour operators for you to be picked up from Kluang, Mersing or Johor Bahru.

By boat

With prior arrangements, it is possible to get to Kampung Peta by river from Kampung Orang Asli Tanah Abang, which is located downstream along Sungai Endau. You will have need to make your own way to FELDA Nitar 2 plantation east of the park, where the Tanah Abang jetty is located. Note, however that this 3-hour boat ride upriver is not often attempted due to the time and costs involved.
